The Tanya is the foundational doctrinal text of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, written by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745–1812), the first Rebbe of Chabad. Its full title is Likkutei Amarim (Collected Sayings); the colloquial name 'Tanya' derives from the opening word of the book.
The Tanya develops a comprehensive psychology of the soul, distinguishing the divine soul from the animal soul and tracing how the seven lower sefirot (chesed, gevurah, tiferet, netzach, hod, yesod, malchut) operate as the inner emotional architecture of devotional life. It is studied daily in Chabad communities worldwide.
Each bottle in Tannenblut's Holy Numbers Edition is accompanied by an individual Hebrew document referencing the Tanya — a textual anchor that ties the numbered bottle to the Chabad philosophical tradition.
